Suspicious Rod

Rod’s toy routine is pretty consistent: get toy, chomp on belly, locate squeaker.

But then a new froggie toy came into his life this weekend.

To say he was weirded out by this change in sound is an understatement.

He hasn’t given up yet though.

He’s just very suspicious of the belly area for now.

I know he’ll conquer this froggie yet!

This will be a very slow assassination...

Escape Rod

Rod is usually pretty good about staying inside when the door is open. So I was quite surprised when one day in our old townhouse Rod was gone in a flash.

I went to chase him but he was already so far!

I decided to go through the house and cut him off at the other side.

But when I got to the front, he wasn’t there either.

Turns out he was much safer than I had feared.

And had run right for his neighborhood buddy Banjo who was out on a walk.

So I took the opportunity to play with my neighborhood buddy.

What a lovely afternoon.

On neighborhood watch.

Valentine Rod

We have all become pretty familiar with the things Rod loves. He is quite particular. Because of the season, I would like to go over some of the things I love about Rod.

The way he smells when he wakes up.

His big fat feet.

His selective laziness.

His sleep face.

The way he wears his heart on his sleeve.

Most of all, I love those big doxie eyes.

Have a great Valentine's Day, everybody!

Bonus Rod

Any Jane Austen fan is probably familiar with silhouette art, which was a popular way to commission a portrait in the late 1700's and early 1800's. A typical set of portraits would look like this:

This inspired my latest endeavor, the Rod silhouette set seen here:

I have declared it a success. Now I'm in the mood to watch Pride and Prejudice.

Daycare Rod

At Rod’s daycare, he is known as the welcome wagon.

Until one day when he got a little distracted….

Rod spent all day by his new friend’s side.

Even while she was getting her hair done.

Rod always loves spending the day with his little girlfriend.

Unless of course she’s not there...

Rod does alright with this face!

What a ladies man!
