Doxies aren’t supposed to do much jumping due to their
super-long backs. Too much spine, not enough leg.
Rod likes to challenge this belief, both up
and down.
Lately I’ve been trying to enforce the doxie stair rule.
But it’s been slow going.
The times he has used the stairs, it’s been a bit…dramatic.
Hi Rod, you gotta learn to use your stairs buddy! We surely don't wanna be reading about any back problems with you. After I ruptured my cervical disk, Mommy & Daddy built us ramps. We are really good about using them (except when the doorbell rings.)

Put bite sized treats on each stair- he will use them then! (that is how we taught Ginger to use her stairs- worked like a charm)
ReplyDeleteWe hear that all the time about hurting our backs. Brudder Max (DaOdderWeenie) did exactly that a few years ago. Fortunately he recovered! Use the stairs, Rod. Or do like we do and make da Momma pick us up and put us where we want to be!
ReplyDeleteI know you will master it!
ReplyDeleteIt takes time.... but you will find it pawesome!
My mom made stairs for me. For the bed... for the sofa...
But... I do the same as Lily Belle said when the doorbell rings!
Ooops!
Take care
Kisses and hugs

Yeah, it's like I bought Nelli a cage to sleep in... no, she won't sleep in it. The couch seems to be a much better place.
ReplyDeleteMOL Rod I'm a stair mistress running up and down ours all day and night.
ReplyDeleteIf need be I'll gladly give you a quick stair lesson.
Hugs Madi
I haven't seen many doxies here in my country... but i am sure they do run very fast on them short-er legs :)
ReplyDeleteBOL! i use the stairs 100% of the time when i'm going up, but only 50% of the time coming back down - depends on who i'm growling at, or which toy needs my attention! =)
