Our First DoxPhest

Today was our area's doxphest and boy are we all tired this evening!  It was our first experience at such an event and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  What a great site to see so many dachshunds in one place!  Rod won his first 2 heats, I was very proud of him!  Of course, I would have been proud if he got last place in the very first race :)  Some footage to enjoy is below!

Fell asleep during the action!

Some doxie art!

Rod's first race!

  1. So neato!! Down here in Tx there is going to be a weiner fest! They will be having those little races too! Now Mommy is thinking about entering me!

  2. What a fun day!!! A couple of years back our Mama organized a Doxiefest at our local dog park -it was a blast! There were over 60 (we lost count) dachshunds - who knew there were so many living in our small Island?
There are pictures located on our blog, but you have to scroll back a bit to see them!

Maybe we can talk Mama into having another one next June!

  3. Go Rod, Go!!!

How fun is that! Whenever my momma goes to a wienerfest or wienerdog races...all her does is squeeeeel at all da cute dogs!

  4. You go Hot Rod!!! Great name for you since you are a mean lean running machine!!!
    Big Hug Madi

  5. That is SO cool! Looks like a fun time!

  6. What a nice event. I have a dream to organize a dacksy event in my town, too. There are no such events here, but I'm sure people would love it. Any tips?

  7. ruthie,

i would highly recommend having your mom enter you in the races! it is so much more exciting when you are. take lots of pictures, i wish i had more!!

  8. hey 3 dogs! how fun you got to have your own doxie fest!! it seems like it would be a ton of work to put together, congrats to you!

thanks for cheering me on minna, madi, and remi!! i think every doxie enjoys a little racing :)

  9. hey brina!

i think that's a great idea. i think your blog is a great way to start organizing so you can get helpers and start spreading the word! most of the advertising was done online but there were also notices in the paper. this doxphest was held at the local fairgrounds. i think anywhere that you can do it rain or shine is a great place to start. good luck!!!

  10. WOW, you can run so fast!!! I am most impressed!!!

    Your pal, Pip

  11. You knows...most peoples don't realize exactly HOW fast we can actually run...stopping is my problem...hehehe...loooook out fur da wall.

  12. aw we missed it this year, too! baxter wasn't as keen about doing the races - he kept turning around last year!

  13. Lookit you run Rod... you sure run as fast as i dooooo... you'll probably beat me anytime. Looks like a whole lotta fun at the fair :)
