Work Rod

I see my workdays as Rod’s workdays too. Monday-Friday, we both have a job to do and weekends are for play. I always wonder if he looks forward to the weekend as much as I do.

We both roll out of bed painfully slow.

Head to work.

Immediately take a coffee break.

Wait for 5 o’clock.

But weekends we enjoy together in our jammy-jams.

Ready for the Law & Order marathon!

Tanning Rod

Unlike everyone, everywhere, Rod doesn’t mind the heat wave. In fact, he goes out of his way to relax in 100 degree weather.

I do my best to comply, but it can be difficult.

I'm gross.

And Rod is happy. :)

Wake-y Rod

Rod has developed his own morning routine and I love seeing what his personal preferences are in life.

He too uses an alarm - to his advantage.

 I’m afraid this routine is heading towards breakfast in bed for the Rod.

Olympic Rod

Once every 4 years, we get to watch the very best in sports. So it only makes sense that during this time, we examine Rod’s Olympic hopeful dreams.

We expect him to excel in:

The gymnastics rings

The floor routine

The pole vault

And obviously, the long jump

On his way to Olympic gold!!

Running Rod

So this happened on Saturday and it is definitely worth mentioning.

Heat Rod

As a sports fan and all around athletic hero, Rod is very excited about the Heat advancing to the NBA finals.

As I spend my days thinking about Rod and the Miami Heat, I find some similarities.

For example:

Their Big 3.

Our Big 3.

Their super human strength.

Our super human strength.

Their lovable weirdo.

Our lovable weirdo.

Their historic playoff stats.

Our historic playoff stats.

Just kidding, we don't have that.

Hopefully Rod doesn’t fall asleep during the game like he does when we watch the Bachelor.

Stair Master Rod

Doxies aren’t supposed to do much jumping due to their super-long backs. Too much spine, not enough leg.

Rod likes to challenge this belief, both up

and down.

Lately I’ve been trying to enforce the doxie stair rule.

But it’s been slow going.

The times he has used the stairs, it’s been a bit…dramatic.

But we’ll get there.
